Description

DeciTime - Time for the 21st century

DeciTime stands for "decimal time", i.e. a representation of the time of day based on decimal units.

Since the old times we are used to the somewhat odd counting with 24/60/60 - the time of day has 24 hours of 60 minutes of 60 seconds.

With DeciTime, the day has 10 Dours of 100 Dinutes of 100 Deconds.
Sounds strange, but it is much easier to count in decimal system.

Until now, the day has 86,400 seconds. Now it's 100,000 deconds. A simple math shows that the deconds are slightly faster than seconds. Fast times, fast time ;-)

Apple watch

I know its a longshot but i would really like an apple watch version of this. It would help me out a lot at work

So simple. Beautifully done. If only the world would adopt this standard.

Other than the sun dial, man-made devices used to measure time have always seemed somewhat arbitrary and convoluted. Why base 12? Sailors would argue because a circle is represented by 360 degrees and 12 is easily divisible by 360. But everything can be converted to metric or decimal format. So why not a base 10 decimal clock that simply divides the day up into 10 parts instead of 24?

To take it a step further, why time zones? Instead, why not a universal time where sunrise, midday, sunset and midnight are simply observed at different times, depending on your location on the earth. Star Trek seemed to imagine it with their star date system. Why not standardize on a base 10 decimal clock for real?

Hurray For the Ten Hour day!!

I’ve been using decimal time for a lot of years now, and think it’s the sure way to go ... on any world. Besides, our 24 hour day only relates to earth, our sun and moon.
This app is a great representation of the 10 hours day. Please keep it updated, unlike the other decimal time apps I’ve used, which gone the way of the dodo, as iOS has updated.
