Love this game

I absolutely hate pay to play/win apps loaded with in app purchases. It is fantastic to find a game you buy once, and there is a ton of user-generated extra content/scenarios/campaigns for free download.

If you like turn-based strategy games like X-Com, but also enjoy a fantasy setting, this game is for you. Thanks to the makers for breaking the mode of greed and not making this just another money-sink, pay-to-play/win game. This of us without countless dollars to waste on in-app purchases love and appreciate you and wish you great success in the future.

Let us know about any other buy-once games you put out. I will happily support a company bucking the current greed trend, even if they are games in a genre or type I don’t normally play I would still buy them just to support a company that cares about the players, not just their bottom line!

An EXCELLENT PC game that works well enough mobile

I played Wesnoth forever ago on my PC after asking around what a good game for a Fire Emblem lover is. It’s probably half way between Fire Emblem and Advance Wars, though. It’s incredibly tough to beat as a free game.

The port to mobile didn’t change the tutorial to include a different control scheme (tells you to right click and such) and the controls don’t work here quite as well as they do on the PC but honestly it’s gonna be tough to find a better F2P game on mobile than this, so long as you enjoy the genre.

Easier levels aren’t horribly difficult, one need not be a strategic genius to get through Tale of Two Brothers. And yet some of the higher difficulty levels will absolutely put your skills to the test.

I LOVE This Game!

Two reviews - a short one and a longer one. The short one is the title. Here is the long version -

I'm SICK of all the crappy games in the App Store getting 5 stars. Cut the Rope? Really? Great - if you're four years old or have the attention span of a hummingbird. I've been looking for depth. This is it. Something to sink my teeth into. The reason it gets four stars is because it is great (IMO five stars means "perfect"). Now when the wife wants me to go to the mall (GRRRRRRR!!) I say "sure". Sitting on a bench playing Wesnoth. Wife wants to go car shopping? No problem - sitting in the customer lounge playing Wesnoth. Wife wants to visit her Mom? You guessed it - sitting on the sofa playing Wesnoth.

Full disclosure - this game is not for everyone. This is old school, turn-based, strategy RPG at its finest. It is more akin to electronic chess than Elder Scrolls - plan accordingly. If you're looking for thoughtful gaming that's going to take a long, long while - this is it.
