Keeping your data safe:
Watchla holds your privacy and its transparency to the highest level and therefore Watchla does not accept your account credentials as a form of sign in. Watchla will never see, process or store your Tesla account email or password.
Instead, Watchla offers the ability to Sign in with Tesla right from Watchla’s iOS companion app. Sign in with Tesla is a secure method of signing in that allows you to authenticate your Tesla account directly on Tesla’s website. Once authenticated, you will be automatically signed into Watchla with your Tesla account both on the iOS and Apple Watch app.

Disclaimer:
Watchla is an authorized 3rd party Tesla watch app, it is not owned or endorsed by Tesla Inc. Watchla utilizes Tesla’s Fleet API and Bluetooth protocol to safely & securely provide you with remote access to your Tesla from your Apple Watch. The Watchla Apple watch app is an independent watch app and (aside from signing in) doesn't need its iOS companion app to perform normally. To retrieve vehicle data and send commands while out of Bluetooth range, the watch app needs a connection to the internet. Bluetooth functionality, including Watch Key, will continue to work without internet. Using Bluetooth and Tesla Key functionality is subject to vehicle compatibility.
TLDR; yes, you can use a Wi-Fi only Apple Watch to control your Tesla without your phone nearby if your Tesla is included in the list below :)
Tesla vehicles compatible with Bluetooth & Tesla Apple Watch Key support:
- Model 3
- Model Ys
- Cybertruck
- Model S (year 2021 or newer)
- Model X (year 2021 or newer)
Download Watchla, the ultimate Tesla watch app and experience total control over your Tesla, from the convenience of your wrist.

What’s New
Version 4.3.2
Added new alternate home view and overhauled the main screen in the watch app. Available for subscribed users now and legacy users soon.
Due to higher than expected Tesla API costs we have transitioned to a subscription based model in order to enable Watchla to be sustainable. All subscriptions offer a free trial period.
At this time, legacy users (those that purchased Watchla as a one-time purchase to download) will continue to have access to Watchla without a subscription.
Also: fixed a critical bug where in v4.3 some legacy users were misidentified.
Ratings and Reviews
See AllWould be 5 stars but for one (literally) painful flaw
Watchla is great for using a smartwatch for Tesla tasks, like opening the trunk, when your hands are too full to reach your smartphone. BUT…it often takes too long to connect to Bluetooth, and I find myself hitting a command twice before it registers. Today, I hit “Open Trunk” twice. The trunk opened, and I leaned over to load groceries into the hatch. But suddenly the trunk lowered, with the edge of it hitting me high and hard on my forehead. So, my request of the deveioper is to ensure that a command doesn’t register twice when chosen twice in quick succession.
Issues connecting and how do you subscribe?
Although it says it’s connecting to my car, the state of charge never seems to update or updates very rarely if at all.
I am a legacy user and would be happy to pay a sub subscription to support the app so it doesn’t go out of business like watch for Tesla. However, I don’t see option to subscribe anywhere maybe because of a legacy user please let me know how to subscribe.
Lastly , can you make it out when you open the frunk with either a complication or in the app that it always promises you? It is literally the only thing that you could do away from the car that you cannot undo or close I believe with the doors you need to be in Bluetooth range so that’s not a problem. But you can accidentally hit the frunk button and open it and there will be no way to close it. I know there’s a command to make it so you need to confirm everything, but I don’t like to confirm everything and this is just the only thing that really could cause a major issue
Bluetooth doesn’t always connect
I have 2 Tesla’s and setup this app to connect to both of them. However, I’m having difficulty in getting the bluetooth to connect to them on a consistent basis. After adding the vehicles, the app on my watch says bluetooth is connected but when I switch to my other car, it shows disconnected, even if I’m sitting in the car. Then I can’t have it connect to either, even when I’m within the Watchla app on my watch. I tried force closing the app also. The only thing that seems to work when I can’t get bluetooth to connect is restarting my watch altogether.
Another thing is that you have to explicitly select which vehicles bluetooth you want to connect to, whereas another Watch app that I’ve tried will connect to both my cars without having to choose. Of course, I expect to have to choose which car when I want to send a command, but I don’t want to have to select a car just for unlocking purposes.
