What is the longest transcription supported?
We support transcription of recordings, audio files, and video files up to 8 hours long. You can transcribe as many recordings as you would like.

Is the app actually fully local?
Yes! The app uses local models of OpenAI's Whisper and Meta AI's Llama so all transcription and AI features work on-device. Network connection is only required once per session to download the transcription model. Your data is also stored on your device so it is secure and private. As we do not want to upload your data to the cloud, your transcriptions will be deleted if you delete the application. We recommend backing up important transcriptions.

How long does it take to transcribe audio?
Live transcription transcribes audio almost immediately. For transcribing audio or video files, it takes roughly 5~15% of the recording length to transcribe audio on my iPhone 14 Pro. For instance, a 20-minute recording takes around 2 minutes to transcribe. You may notice a slightly faster transcription rate for short recordings, and slightly slower transcription rate for long recordings.

Why do I have to keep the app open while it is transcribing?
Unfortunately, iOS limits apps from operating in the background for extended amount of time. If you are unable to run the app at the moment, you can quit and reopen the app anytime. The interrupted recording will automatically start transcribing again.
