Gordon has traveled the world for more than 20 years to record the sounds of nature in 3D. Thunderspace features his best remastered thunderstorm recordings. We've encoded all storms in Thunderspace in 256 kbps AAC for a top notch, crystal clear sound experience. Combined with realistic lightning flashes, your brain can't help but think the storm is real.

To hear the 3D sound all around you, any stereo headphones will work. The same principle which works for 3D TV also works for 3D sound. Left ear, right ear. It's pretty neat. You may try Thunderspace over speakers. Though keep in mind that if the sound of the left speaker enters you right ear, and vice versa, you may not hear the 3D effect. This is due to a phenomenon called "crosstalk". We've heard of some customers who were able to hear the 3D sound on their surround system.

Your brain decodes these inter-aural time- and level differences to tell you where a sound came from. We managed to record these head-related audio cues in a way that sounds natural over headphones.
